Scriptures That Changed My Life

These are the scriptures that changed my life and made me the Christian i am today. These scriptures are the foundation for my soul saving way of life. I hope you enjoy these and that it provides a window into my personality and life.

1. The Obvious Romans 10:9 and John 3:3 These are the foundation of most Believers.

John 3:3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

2. Ephesian 2:8 This scripture is in my opinion the most misunderstood scripture in the Bible. It is SO SIMPLE many still refuse it. Religion is alive today even in the modern church. If Christians could ever get a grip on how FREE they are in Christ , they could change the world. Here are some of the most beautiful words God ever spoke to us

"For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved ([delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God."

3. 1 Cor 9:22 This Scripture is so powerful i will give a few translations to explain it even better.

NIV
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.

(Message)
I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn't take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I've become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn't just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it!

We as Christians cannot get so absorbed in the world of Christianity that we become irrelevant. a thought well expressed by Bill Hybels. We need to remember we have a mission to SAVE the lost, not stay in a cocoon. Unfortunately many Christians do not understand this and will shun unbelievers with their loose lipped judgments. Remember who Jesus hung out with , yup that's right!!! Remember the old saying "don't be so spiritually minded that your no earthly good"

4. Matthew 10:16 This scripture adds a little to the previous, that we need to be in the world to save them, not just dwell with ourselves.

"I do send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, be ye therefore wise as the serpents, and simple as the doves."

5. John 10:10 "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."

This Scripture is amazing and shows Gods love. that we are meant to have ALL THAT GOD HAS NOW!!!!!, not just in heaven. Jesus was talking about living this life on earth with AUTHORITY!!!!!!!!!!! If i knew this scripture when i was a kid my life would have been changed faster. Religion kept me thinking being godly was being poor. A lie from the devil.

6. Matthew 22:36-40 "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. "

Without love we truly are POWERLESS. ALL the spiritual gifts are powerless if we are not WALKING IN LOVE.!!!!!! We NEED TO LOVE!!!! Love is not a feeling it is a choice!!!!

7. 2 cor 6:9-11 "ignored by the world, but recognized by God; terrifically alive, though rumored to be dead; beaten within an inch of our lives, but refusing to die; immersed in tears, yet always filled with deep joy; living on handouts, yet enriching many; having nothing, having it all."

How can i add anything to that....wow

There are many, amny more scriptures but these define me and my walk and my mission to save the lost, heal the sick and mend the broken hearted. Thats why I am a christian and a Counselor in my career.
